Best user frendly/eaisest tuning software?
I had my car tuned professionally with HP Tuners but I think I want to start my own tuning, I am pretty mechanically inclined and know the basics about tuning but whats the easiest software out there to tune with? If its something else besides HP will it work since my car is already tuned?

Our software was designed around ease of use for our customers, with a user help forum with over 9000 members http://www.hptuners.com/forum/index.php our demo's http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5058 and Real Time Tuning without any additional hardware its also the most complete package with the most functionality out of the box.

I have both and use HPT the most. Its easier IMHO. There are definitely things that make it easier.
Like being able to have multiple tables open at the same time. Like being able to open files in the compare feature, that dont have the exact OS, but have similar tables that you may want to reference. In EFIlive, if the OSs dont match, you cant open them in the compare.
Theres also more freedom in the histograms in HPT.
With HPT you dont need a RoadRunner for real time tuning of MOST of the important tables.
On the other hand, EFIlive is a little ahead with the Virtual VE for the E38 PCMs.
Thats just a few things. I'm sure I could come up with more.

I'll agree on the compare feature but its in the works for EFI LIVE if I recall
More Freedom in the Histograms... Where?
RTT the way HPT does it in most ways is what EFI LIVE had back in V5 but it was removed for RR. I did request that it get re instated and the boys are looking at it. For now we still have Bi-Di's in EFI LIVE which can make AFR and spark changes in real time too. Not quite as capable as RTT but hey I mainly use it for playing with Delta Spark anyway and it does that quite fine. If I want proper real time tuning, I'll use a RR which actually makes the values stick.

The fact is both are good software packages and IMO ours is bit easier to navigate through both editor & scanner. In the end check out both forums see who's helping and who's active & go from there. You really cannot go wrong with either.

Haha, who are the truly independent? The guy that sells efilive or the one with the efilive avatar?

What specific questions do you have about tuning a 224/112 cam? Usually setting up a decent idle speed & dialing in your idle airflow tables will get you going pretty well. Since your an M6 its really pretty straight forward. Then its a matter of you choosing if you'd like to stick with maf or go SD. Either way our real time tuning custom operating systems will make things much easier since you can change tables like idle airflow, idle spark & such all in real time.

Otherwise, the best is what's in my car
These threads are alway fun though because everyone know's EFILive is the best and anyone that purchased or sells something else get's upset about it!
