Shift points for A-4

Default Shift points for A-4

I have the following mods on the car
2001 z28 with
Flp long tubes
Slp air lid
373 gears
3600 vig
Slp air lid
Loud mouth cat back
Tr 224 cam
The car will not shift in to 3rd at WOT how can I fix this I have a HPP3 What shift point should i set them at
I know i need to get ls1 edit

Your MPH shiftpoint needs to correspond to a
RPM below your rev limiter. You should have your
gearing accounted for, first. Then, you need to
lower the MPH points to something that makes
sense (like look at the speedo when you're tagging
the limiter, and set the shiftpoint to about 3MPH
less).

I had my car dynoed after the gear swap. Then I tried to set my shifts to were it shifting just after it is making max power. My engine is stock except for the NX juice kit. Off the juice it makes max power around 5800 rpm and on the juice it maxes around 5800 and stays pretty leavel until around 6200. So I set my shift points to shift around 6000 and I bumped my rpm limit up to 6500. Stock it was at 6200 but while it is shifting the juice makes it hit the limiter at 6200. With out the juice it would not hit it (because the computer pulls the power down on the engine during shifting gears). So I would say dyno the car and then decide what rpm you want it to shift at. But I have the HPP and it is stupid the way they do that. They do it with + or- mph. Thet should have made it were you just put the rpm in that you want. But with the HPP you have to run the car and watch were it is shifting and see the mph at the same time. it takes several runs to get it close. I hait the way they did that and I do not understand why they did it that way.

To fix it your either going to need to have a tuner set them for you or your going to have to buy LS1 Edit. Either way your paying about $500 buckazoids!

all what yuo need is to bump your rev limiter to 6500
leave the stock shift points along

Read the directions carefully. Its simple.
(1-2) a 1 mph increase or decrease is 150 rpm
(2-3) a 1 mph increase or decrease is 79 rpm
(3-4) a 1 mph increase or decrease is 50 rpm

Dyno your car and read the torq curve. To set the best shift points do the math to have it at 100 rpm below max. Raise your RPM limiter to be 100rpm above shift point. TEST with run at WOT.
Adjust accordingly if necessary.

Hope this helps a little

My set up 3-3-6 Rev limiter 6300 rpm 50% firmness. (As per my mods) STREET.
TRACK 4-5-9 Rev limiter 6500 100% firmness. (Harder launch) with ET"s
