Excellent thread! Andrew, I'm an electrical engineer with tech experiance also, and I've wondered if I would be able to replace the Flash ram myself if I ever needed to. This information is great to have; I'm printing out this thread right now!

Warning: Doesn't apply to LS1's. ![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
Carputing wrote a little bootloader program, so they don't have to physically remove the chip for LS1's to revive them again. I haven't had any luck pulling and resuscitating LS1 PCMs this way. LT1's are easy though. LS1's use a different chip in a different form factor, which is MUCH more difficult to work with (and requires more expensive equipment too).
I can't repair LS1 PCMs. Dave @ Carputing can tho.

You can't get pre-programmed chis.. as far as I know.. you might be able to buy blanks and then try programming them again though..
Make sure all the feet are securely soldered into place and none of your traces spill over.

The progrmaer i am trying to use at work will not alow me to do this type of flash. Everthig is preset. Its some type of saftey to make sure none of the techs mess up any of the programing. So does any one else know where i can buy ob2 chips. If it is even possible. Thanks for any help
