Default Wideband Questions

Ok I have been reading about hooking up a wideband for logging with hp tuners threw the a/c pressure or threw the egr. First I have heard that with logging threw the a/c I will need to turn a/c off while logging. If that is the case, can I unhook my a/c pressure and just hook the wideband into it and use it to log while still retaining a/c? My car still has egr, so if I go to log threw that what problems could I encounter? Also I do not have aftermarket headers and am soon going to be force inducted, will it make a difference if the wideband is on the left or right side before the cat or not? Also the wideband is the lc-1 if that helps any.

Seriously help a guy out here?

If he hooks his wideband up to A/C pressure line or EGR will there be any bad things because of it?

Aka a/c won't work or what not?

Need to know before tomorrow when he installs it.
Also put the sensor on the left or right exhaust bank?

Go to HP Tuners site and you can find it there. If you need the EGR for emissions you shouldn't use it for the wideband. The ac should be fine but I don't think you can use it while tuning.

We're in Florida so no need for emissions. Will it throw a cel code and if so which one so we can turn it off thru HPT.

You don't need to turn any codes off. You connect the wideband to the Brown wire (I think) for the egr valve and that sends a 5v reference signal to the pcm so you can see your wideband in the scanner. I have the NGK so thats how mine is connected, your may by a bit different.

Thanks for the help we appreciate it!
So to make sure where crystal if you cut off the egr line and replace it with the lc-1 wideband signal there will be no ill effects on the car besides the check engine light for the error codes? No changes in how the car runs or a "limp mode"?

You won't get any codes or check engine light. The wideband sends the signal back to the PCM instead of the egr. They both send a 0-5v signal.

You need to set up a PID in hp tuners to be able to see the data, use the link I gave you and you should be all set.

Couldnt you run any 12V signal and a 470ohm resistor to make it 5v? That's what i had to do to get my Alternator to charge with my carb setup. I'm pretty sure the resistor dropped it to 5 volts.

What are you talking about, the guy wants to log data with a wideband.
