gears for ta?
I have about $900 to spend on performance mods on my 00 t/a. Deciding if i should go with bolt ons, intake manifold, port TB, headers. or go from my stock 342 gears to 410s?

alright.. Didn't like the idea of paying labor costs anyways, but figured id ask just to be sure. My buddy just said he did lt headers and a tb on his gto and saw no gain, which kinda lead me away from bolt ons a little bit. Hate spending money without seeing results lol

Doing Qpt LT headers, weiand intake, bbk 80mm tb, then hopefully a cam set up, still may do gears in the future if i can figure out labor costs. I think the 342s are def hurting me.

I htink he'll feel the difference without a tune, it's just that he won't get as much out of it.
But yeah, boltons > gears IMO. Headers/TB/tune should get you close to 30-40rwhp out of it, and you SHOULD feel that, lol. BTW, for just boltons, get a mail order tune, Frost Tuning is a good place to check.

Well I should have the qpt headers, weiand intake(80mm) and bbk TB (80mm) by next week, hoping to also do a cam set up with it and then a tune. Hopefully can find a nice package deal with cam, valve springs and hardened pushrods all in one. Im not sure if i should get into different heads, or gears. Just want to easily clear low 12s, without spray. I will get it tuned upon completion. I dont know much about cams. This is a street car that sees the track here and there throughout summer, so it has to be streetable, but im hoping to see a big difference when im finished.

I think I'm deciding on a set of 390 motive gears, if i can find someone to do the labor without breaking the bank. Between the combo thats on its way, gears, a nice cam & a tune. I think I'll reach my goal. Also decided on Koni shocks and sway bars for suspension.
