Brought it home. Now the fun begins with fixing all of the little stuff that still needs to be addressed. She is a solid runner though.

installed strano lowering springs, srt.t koni's, kyb upper mounts, umi sub frame connectors, umi adj panhard bar, umi lower control arms, upper and lower ball joints, new stab links, speed engineering 1 7/8 LT's, ory, o2 sims, new front o2's, B&M trans cooler, 3.73 gear, ngk plugs, gmpp red wires, tie rod ends, all fluid swaps, and i'm sure i'm missing something a few others. busy last few days.

this weekend plan on removing side moldings, installing new painted side mirrors and a full exterior detail.

cut out is next, anyone have any suggestions on where to have it installed on the exhaust? before the axle? after the ory?

also now on the hunt for some 96-00 WS6 chrome/ polished 17's and aeroforce interceptor gauge.

A+ on removing the side molding! Mine are gone too.

There is an indentation on the pass side, under the seat area, that's a perfect place for a cut-out!

I've only had the car for about two weeks now. Already ditched the stock monsoon stuff for a much better sound system, yesterday I did some sound deadening. I pulled off the door mouldings and had some paint correction done to the car since it had a bra on it when I bought it, installed and MGW shifter, took my laptop with me to pick up the car and did some datalogging and tuning on the way home, and today I had to do the CETA mod. I also ordered new wheels for it yesterday, but they've got a 10-12 week lead time due to being custom made to order. Nice little surprise was that the car already had quite a bit of suspension work done to it, but i'm looking to ditch the Koni yellows and Eibach/Hotchkis springs for Viking Coilovers.

Yeah it was surprising. Actually just sitting out in the Florida sun seemed to bleach it back white quite a bit compared to how it initially looked pulling the bra off. I want adjustability. The rear of the car sits entirely too low and the ride is ****. My friend runs a set of viking coilovers and his rides about as good as my 09 CTS-V did on street settings and then he cuts 1.2x-1.3x 60's, but still handles well. Really I think Viking is the way to go and always have. The car had the Koni's with eibach's in the front and Hotchkis springs in the rear when I bought it otherwise I would've just went straight for the Viking setup to begin with.

Change your springs out to something better and play with the settings on the konis, they are lightyears better than vikings or other drag style shocks for ride quality and handling/feel. You can still cut 1.2 60ft times on konis and have fantastic handling and ride.

I've played with them the same as I played with them on my first WS6 8 years ago. They never get quite as comfortable as the Vikings while maintaining a lower stance than factory. Trust me we have been through the settings a lot from one extreme to the other lol. Could just be worn shocks, but given the condition of them compared to surrounding parts i'd say they're pretty new and before I go to swapping just the springs i'd rather just swap in Vikings while i'm at it instead of wasting the cash on MAYBE getting better ride out of different springs when I already know the setting on the vikings and that they do ride better.

Im glad JD chimed in cause Im with him on this subject...... I think instead of wasting cash on maybe liking the Vikings as there are a lot who dont. God forbid you say it though cause every vendor comes out the wood works to post 60ft times, and pics of sponsored cars in the winner circle all the while calling them a street suspension setup which just isnt the case. If your concern is drag performance you will likely be satisfied, but if you want any kind of ride quality id spend the money on a good set of springs to match up with the Koni's cause Eibach and Hotchkis isnt it. The worst part of it is your true performers have moved to much better setups than Vikings.

Look into ridetechs setup if you still want the adjustablity https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...rans-am-2.html

Normally i'd be in the same boat as you two and would be hesitant to spend the money, but I have the opportunity to get out of my car with the Koni's and Eibach's on the best settings I can manage for the street into a car with the Vikings on whatever setting he left them at and feel the immediate difference between the ride quality of the two cars. His were an early set of the Vikings as well when they started offering the coilover setup for the rear as well so they've been on the car for quite a long time with zero issues.

id blame the eibachs over the Koni's but at the end of the day its your money. My opinion from experience though is an oil filled twin tube design isnt for the street.

So the car you rode in has otherwise the same exact suspension setup and wheel/tire setup as you do?
Or let me guess, the other car is on slicks/skinnies and has something like 300lbs/in front springs and ~150lbs/in rear springs.
Tires will make a huge difference in ride quality as will springs rates and ride height. Even things like LCA's and a rear swaybar will make a big difference in ride quality. Given all else equal the Konis WILL ride better AND handle WAY better than the vikings just due to design alone. Now ride quality is subjective so if you prefer the ride of a 90s pickup truck compared to a BMW M3 then you will probably like the vikings better.
Its your money and you can do what you want but simply put its an inferior product for everything except drag racing.
