eyeballin I would say it looks between 35 and 20, leaning toward the 35 end of that range.

Yeah its all 20%. In Texas the Passenger and Driver window can be no more than 20%. Hatch can be as dark as you want it to be but 20% looks good all the way around. I wish Texas would let us do our windshields...

I wish we could go as low as 20% here in Indiana. We can't go below 35% so there is almost no point to tinting your windows.

Same here in Washington, but my car has 20% on it. It's all dependant on how big of ******** the cops are in your area.

Huge ******** around here. A friend of mine went 1 shade below 35% ( I want to say it was 25 or 30% ) and he got pulled over 4 times in the course of two weeks for the back window being too dark.

And he drives a 100% stock dark Blue Buick Lucerne CXL I think ( its got a 3800 ) doesn't go around blasting music, etc. You would think he was just another 900 year old man driving their Buick 10 under the speed limit.

Oddly enough, I've yet to see anyone get pulled over around here for tinted tail lights, ridiculous subs or obviously dangerous cars. If its not speeding, its ALWAYS the crap that shouldn't even be enforced.

For example, the same friend got pulled over for 1 of his 4 brake lights being out. The light in question wasn't used for a turn signal, it was just there to light up when the brakes were pressed. The cops out here are dicks for all the wrong reasons.

Damn, that suck... My car has had 20% tint on it for more than a decade and I've never had a single issue. The hardest part was finding a shop that would do 20% even though the law says 35%.

Since Texas lets you have any shade of tint on the rear windows, every shop has multiple shades on hand. If you want to go below the state limit on the sides, most shops just don't give you a receipt or do any warranty work if the tint is ever damaged. That's how most of the shops down here skirt the laws. No paper trail, no proof, not their problem. It's like it never even happened in their shop.....

Got my windows tinted after cooking in the GA heat the last two weeks. Went 35% on the three main windows and 5% on the T-tops. Made a big difference as far as heat and doesn't look half bad either.

Yeah, when the city cops around here got there first tint meter like 10-12 years ago that cop was a total dick, he asked me where I had it done and when I told him where (the ONLY SHOP IN TOWN that did tint at the time) and he was all nodding his head like I payed them to do it illegally dark when I didn't (I guess they had a history of doing that), now days the cops stopped using the "tint excuse" to pull you over and just say you swerved over the center line as there reason for pulling me over, guess thats what I get for DDing a F-body and getting off work at 10:30 at night.

35% is the limit here and compared to nothing it is a hell of difference, but remember it's not just the percentage that dictates how much heat gets thru now days, they actually have "heat blocking" layers in the tint now that have nothing to do with the darkness of the shade. I've got the Gila "Heat Shield" 35% on my front doors and it stays WAY cooler then the 15% on my t-tops.

LOL.. yeah Washington allows up to 20% on the rear window, and I have a friend that ran a tint shop at the time, so it was no biggie for me.
