Big Problem Need Help!!!!!!!!

Well my high beam/ lo beam switch stopped working and my turn signals. So i went to the dealership and a couple of the parts i needed to fix my problems are discontinued so i went to the junk yard and bought a whole new steering column, well my ignition stopped working yesterday so i switched out the steering columns well now my car wont crank everything works but the starter wont engage or anything all that happens is the security light comes on. can anybody help me???

BTW its a 98 T/A and yes the new steering column came with the key

Not an expert or claiming to know, but it sounds like the computer is not accepting the new steering column and key that you purchased....and keeping the car from starting for you.

Sounds like you need someone who knows about these things program the computer to accept the new key.?

Sounds like you have a VATS issue causing the ECM to not allow the engine to start.

Easy fix. Measure the resistance of the key pellet from your OLD steering column. Buy a new blank key that has the same resistance value from the dealer. Have them cut the pattern from your junkyard key on to the newly purchased key.
