Default Help me pick a hood

Alright well after someone ran me into the pylons that separate the hov lane from the regular road I'm going to have to replace my sleek beak.

The hoods I know of are the raptor, firehawk, ws6, and ws9

Can anyone name others and possibly show me some pics?
Also I'd you have purchased one a good place to get the hood from? There is so many places idk which ones are the better quality and such.

I appreciate it the help very much.

Well, there's the superhawk...good luck finding one.
Also, vfn just came out with a new hood, wsq, I think. Should be in production here within the next month or 2.

iPhone auto correct does suck. You don't know how many posts I had to come back and edit because of it.

Thanks for info, really does look like the ws9 is my favorite, would vfn be a good place to buy from? Are there comparable manufacturers?

And yea I swear words I don't put show up and words I do are always missing. Makes you seem illiterate at times

that looks really good, is it taller than a stock ws6 hood?

Noob question, what's the difference in the bolt on vs the lift off hoods?

Haha that was too broad and then i typed in vfn hood and now my head is going to explode lol.

I don't know if I want to fork out an extra $200 to have heat extractors on a ws9, but if anyone that has one of the other can tell me how the fitment and quality is to them I would appreciate it.

I'm between the raptor and ws6 hood at this point.

Anyone have a pic of the raptor hood in satin black?

The WS9 Outlaw is taller than the WS6 hood. It continues with a 4" rise all the way in the back.

My fitment is decent, nothing in comparison to a factory OEM ws6 hood though. A "bolt on" hood is just that, bolts on with factory hardware. A "lift off" hood is pinned on.

Is that how all of their hoods are or is that the 4inch taller one that you have?

I'm think I'm just gonna go with either a stock one or a replica ws6/ws9 from vfn.

Ah ok, I thought so but wanted to make sure. Thanks.

If I would have to choose one now I would go with a Firehawk styled one.

Yea I was really digging the raptor but $745 for just the hood plus $345 for it to be functional as ram air vs $495 for a ws6 or $695 for a ws9 I just can't see spending the extra money on it

You have to add in for paint too don't forget. If it were me I would MUCH rather spend the extra $$ and get it how I want it. Pretty sure you could easily make the Raptor hood functional without the $350 kit, an easy way would be just buying one of the K&N intakes for it. And, IMO, the Raptor hood is WWWWAAAYY better looking than the WS6 or WS9. I hate the 4 nostrils on them, and the way they look from the side.

IMO firebirds and formulas should have a raptor hood , maybe a mecham..
but Trans am's need something more agressive like the WS6 , WS9 or WSQ

^ I completely agree with everything I've seen.

With the body flush spoiler of the firehawks and formulas the raptor and such hoods look really good.

The t/a's with the high rise benefit from the ws6 styled ones.

I'm currently trying to find a factory ws6 hood. The wsq hood is a little extreme for me and isn't being shipped and sold yet.
