#62
I just got the heads cleaned up and checked from the machine shop so those will be on there for a year or so, then i will be upgrading the heads. Im goign to end up getting a ram air intake also, probably the ftp one. Engine im hoping will be assembled by next weekend, waiting on k member from pa racing and need to lay a layer of clear on the engine bay and should be able to throw it in there before too long.

nice work! i would like to restore my entire car but i dont have the talent, time or patience that you have. GREAT LOOKING T/A but get a WS6 hood for it.
I have one but its black and aftermarket....
also how long did it take for you to pull the dash and reinstall the dash?

yeah i had to tear it down that far though as bad of a condition as it was in. There was rust everywhere! Still need to fix the rear wheel well where it was rusted through. Also got the heads on the motor today still cleaning up the oil pan, there was so much sludge in it!

Man. That pan needs to come completely apart and be chemically washed. See if a tranny shop will toss it in their hot cleaner. Sure don't want any hidden chunks left in it anywhere. Thats as bad a pan as I've seen in a while.

yeah its deffinatly time consuming, the biggest thing you could do that would only take a day is take the interior out and carpet out and check for rust. Both me and my dads trans's had rust where the peoples feet in the backseat go, i guess its a common spot.

well i leave for school in a week an i still have some things to buy, so looks like this will have to wait to be finished until i get back from school in december.
All i need now though is
brake lines that go from abs block to rear
strano springs
pushrods
paint
and slp lm2
should be done before spring!
getting the boost bug, might but a little turbo.....
in the middle of swapping my plastic tank into my 98, ive read that that you have to modify the harness, but never seen how to do it. Would a harness off of a 99-02 work? I also read that the 98 sending unit could also work in the tank? Is that true?

Not sure on the gas tank, but I would assume it would work. I'm so glad to see one of my favorite cars being restored instead of parted out! I love this thread. I plan on doing the same to my '95. Good luck!
