Then why isn't the window sticker in the window, plastic on the seats and steering wheel, floor/trophy mat in bags (not installed), etc.?
Not trying to be obstinate, but just putting it all into perspective. One piece out of several doesn't seem to be significant if that makes sense.

I'd presume you could answer the question since you appear to do this for a portion of your income (dealing with niche/collector cars). It's not a trick question -- considering all the things that come "from the factory" it seems the only thing that people seem to leave is that tag around the bezel.
It's presumably no different than any of the other stuff that rolled off the carrier with the car -- stuff that can be stacked and put away somewhere else. Otherwise, if it's so important to have things just the way they were (since that is the premise of your tag there), then why is it only the tag?
