Newb Needs Help
I got my WS6 about 3 weeks ago now so I have been reading and searching A LOT on here trying to figure everything out as far as mods I want to do with it. It is an '02 A4 with 73,300 miles on it. The car is not a DD and will not be a strip car. It is only going to get driven on nice days.
The things I am pretty sure on are for the exhaust I will be doing headers, 3" Y pipe, and cutouts. The car will be getting tuned after that it put on. The car already has a SLP loudmouth catback on it. I am leaning towards the Volant intake.
For the suspension I will be going with BMR springs and Billstein shocks. I also plan on getting the BMR adj. panhard bar and relocation brackets.
When it comes to the engine I am really having a hell of a time figuring out what route to go. Right now the car has 3.73 gears on the factory 10 bolt. I was thinking of doing a H/C/I possibly. I think I want to go with the 243 heads, cam was thinking 228r?, and intake was going to be a fast intake just not sure on whether I want to deal with all the modifications to make the 102 work over the 90 or 92. Would a TB and MAF be needed as well?
I will also be going with a 4000 stall.
Any and all input is appreciated.

Dont get a Volant. Its just a show piece.... just get a lid. Slp, MTI, or FTP
243 heads areent going to do you much good since you have 241s right now. They are basically the same. Minor crap like sodium filled valves and the yellow springs.
IMO... get some longtubes, Sell your SLP LM and get some true duals, Get EVERYTHING that Founders Performance has (PHB, Brackets, LCAs), Some bilsteins, Strano Springs, and a tune
good to go.... but thats just me

Personally, I'd say don't get true duals unless you really like listening to your exhaust droning on long drives, but yeah, if you ever wanna get headers you're gonna have a bad time with the LM.
The ultimate question would be what you're trying to accomplish.

Just P&P the heads you got and get some things for then (springs and rockers)
Founders has quality stuff... not that BMR doesnt because they do aswell. But price wise for your weekend/sunny day car, the price is right

Curious as to why you think I'll have a bad time with the loudmouth catback and headers? Is it really loud or have a lot of drone?
Thanks for the info!

243's are always going to outflow and outperform 241's whether stock to stock or port & polished to the same. That has been demonstrated on here many times over. True, there are better flowing heads out there. I'd look at Texas Speed's offerings on heads and decide what fits your budget and goals.
LM-1 is out of the question, and I don't like true duals either because they're just too loud. Personal preference. I'd build my own catback with Walker/Dynomax pieces and a Maganflow muffler. Just can't take the cannon tips on the Magnaflow catback.
Good choice on cam, converter (Yank SS4000). Stay with your 3.73s and your suspension plan is good.
Take it from someone who has the LM 1 with long tubes and ORY...don't do this combo lol! Very loud and raspy! If it were me i'd get those 243's worked on a bit or maybe some LS6 or 5.3 heads (good budget heads) and go a little bigger on the cam. If you stay with the stock 243's and 228 cam idea then i'd stay away from the FAST intake as well, and just keep the LS6. That's just my opinion
Thanks for the responses. Why would I want to stay away from a FAST intake if I did the 243 heads and 228 cam?
Are the truck heads the LQ9 and LQ5? Advantages of one or the other or compared to 243's?

I have an LT1, but I highly recommend Magnaflow. I do not mind the tips, but again, I have a 95 Formula so the single outlets do not look bad to me at all. And if they do - put different tips on. I think Magnaflow and Borla have the best LS sound.
Well i'm just saying your money would be better spent on porting the heads (or other ported heads) and a bigger cam. Stock heads with a smaller type cam wont fully utilize the advantages that the FAST intake can provide. That's just my opinion...
