Default Low blinker fluid!

Been quite inactive for a while since my daughter was born in April.. Anyways, in the last week both of my blinkers have stopped blinking. It's been raining everyday for the last week and a half in Georgia and I'm willing to bet this is the cause. What I don't understand is how none of the lights are out, but none of them blink when signals are on (only the taillight of the direction I'm turning turns solid red) and when I put on the hazard lights only the taillights blink. Lookin' for some answers fellas.

Most likely the rain caused the front bulbs to go out. The housings are notorious for letting water in. With the bulb out the blinker stays solid as a way to inform the driver a light is out. Replace the front bulbs and that should fix it.

I had the same problem but only the drivers side stayed on, passanger side worked fine. I replaced the front driver side turn signal bulb and socket (because they were pretty charred due to mostuire) and still had the same problem. Went to autozone and got a new $10 blinker relay and it fixed the problem.

Autozone probably has blinker fluid.

I called them and they actually searched for some

Also guys, none of the bulbs are out. They still all light up. I'm going to replace both fronts and see if that solves the problem.

Check the sockets, they're probably corroded to crap. For whatever reason they wouldn't blink for me until I replaced the sockets. You can get them for $8 each in the generic electrical section of most autoparts stores and splice them in instead of paying $50 each at GM

This, if you want a more lasting fix, replace the housings aswell if the lense is cracked. I had brand new sockets corrode in about 5 months because water kept getting in through the cracked lens. If you do get new ones, drill a few small holes in the bottom to let water escape in case it gets in again. Plus, they will look better IMO.

This. The sockets you want however, are not listed for our cars. Look for a tail light socket for a 98 Monte Carlo.

Source : I work for Autozone and just replaced by sockets about a month ago.

if both sides stopped blinking, it's very possible your flasher under the dash went bad. it's a metal cylinder with 2 prongs on it (there are 2 of them) and i think the one for the blinkers is the one connected to the passenger side of the steering column, or it will be on that side under the dash if it fell off the clip on the column like it did on mine. that would cause your blinkers to stop blinking when you have all good bulbs.

I will be replacing the sockets when I get paid on the 1st. In the mean time, I remember seeing somebody replace the stock blinkers with vette lights or something. The thread was in the vehicle classifieds a while back. It was an Audi grey bird with CCWs, superhawk, and there was a LED strip on both blinkers. Anybody recall? Hoping the owner will chime in.

If you need to replace bulb sockets, here's the best and/or correct way to do it-without hacking up your harness:

Had the exact same problem several years ago. Moisture corroded my bulb sockets. I bought some new ones for like $7 each and some new bulbs, spliced them in, sprayed some silicone around the bulb housing and havnt had a problem since.

I work at autozone.. And there is a sort of belt gauge as some call it . Measures the wear on the ribs. And help you to determine if there are too many cracks per inch of belt. I can post it a pic if you'd like

This is a belt gauge. It measures the length of a belt.
