Bad day
Today started off as a normal day. Had to do a few errands and ship some parts off. So my wife, my daughter, and I got in the 'bird today and drove to our errands. Everything was fine. At our last stop, the grocery store, we parked and went inside. Came out, loaded the car and started it up. That's when it happened. Loud knocking. I immediately turned the car off and had it towed. Now, I'm without a car to get to and from work. Being in the military and having no money for the cost of parts/repairs and no money laying around for a new car is frustrating at the least. I have absolutely no motivation to get the car fixed. I'm considering of just letting it go as is.

It's not nothing. It's a rod or rod bearing. But there is a 2007 TBSS at a dealership down the road. I will be going to look at it and hopefully have myself another car. Haven't decided if I want to get rid of my T/A or just have it towed to a shop and have them fix it or rebuild it myself.

Sorry for your problems too but this statement above doesn't make sense. I've seen cars 'beat on' with engines that popped with 3,000 miles on them. 124,000 is a miracle in this situation. LS1 engines will fail like any other.

Well guys.. I couldn't get the TBSS like I wanted since there was something wrong with the title. I took what I could get and got a 2011 Impala LTZ. The 'bird should be up and running by March of next year.

Glad you managed to miraculously find the money for a 2011 vehicle in a day!

I think you need a mathematics lesson son. A family with 3 kids would be a family of 5. A family of 3 has one child in it. Do you know how much a $13k car costs over a period of 6 years? Want me to help you do the math "mate"? Ok here we go... let me hold your hand son... 13,000/72=180.55 OH MAN THAT'S DEFINITELY SOME HARD MATH. Again, boss man, I appreciate your sarcasm. Go crawl back in the hole you came out of.

i know how it goes, im also a family of 3 (and one on the way) but dont worry about it. im assuming your trans is paid off? if thats the case just wait to save money to rebuild it. worth it in the long run, youll forever kick yourself if you get rid of it. and the mrs will probably give you a hard time whenever you went to get a new one.
