Default do I really need the little triangle piece

2000 Trans Am here, am going to replace my blotched sail panel(THANKS GM!!) with one I got from 6LE, my question is do I really need the little triangle trim piece that attaches to the sail panel? I could have sworn years ago I didn't see one on a earlier model Camaro Z28, since they already had a black roof. My car is black BTW. Thanks

All of them came with them from the factory. If it were me I'd put them back on.

I got a 'new' one from Hawks, it came with damage from the plastic bag sticking to it. I ended up wrapping it with black carbon wrap and they look great.

Looks fine without it. Most of our Carbon Fiber guys do not run it.
