Question 99 cluster work in a 98?

found a good deal on a 99 ws 6 gauge cluster will it work on my 98?

I know seems like dumb question cuz I see so many things online that say 98 only or 99-02 so I figured I would ask to be safe. And the reason I'm replacing is cuz I'm thinking mine about to go out me

I think they're different so you should hold out for a '98 cluster.

I wonder what the diff is. Appearance wise they look identical. Hmmm...

Junkyard cross reference shows that the 98 cluster is specific. Might have something to do with the PCM difference.
