Default Ls1 hardtop ws6

Hello there. I am looking to compare notes. My research tells me there were 198 ls1 hardtop ws6's and that 2000 was the last year one was made.

I guess I am looking to verify that I am 1/198 and maybe seeking a virtual pat on the back for finding one and buying it.

well this should be in the firebird section......

but to answer the question, look on the door tag and look for the formula ws9 rpo code, then for the rpo ws6 to confirm its in fact a formula ws6. there were never any trans ams made with a hardtop so i assume you have a formula

It is definitely a formula. I didn't know there was a firebird thread, I am sorry. Should I make a new post on that section or wait for an admin to see my mistake and move it?

Also, the formula rpo is w66
All v8's had WS9

Yes? Either way, ws9 w66 and ws6 all present in the door. And there is no mistaking that it is a hardtop =p

Thanks for your help

technically its both. the ws9 package told the factory the car would be a v8 formula since all v8 birds start out as formulas. the w66 told them it would come with the formula trim decals etc while y82 would have told them it was trans am. if it has ws6 then yes its a real ws6

well it is rare that's for sure since they only made five hundred or so from 98-00. better question is if its a 6spd or auto the color and does it have the rpo code 1LE.

That is the number I have for formula ws6's? Is that what your thinking too with that 500ish number? I was asking about HARSTOP ws6's (in the ls1 generation)

It is m6 =)

Thanks again for your help

A friend of mine (cobranotch on here) Just parted and scrapped a very fixable 99 WS6 Formula. It was a very rare car and a sin not to fix it.

68 hardtop ws6's in 1999?

that number matches the ones i am working with. 39 in 1998, 68 in 1999, 91 in 2000

39 68 91 = 198. That is why I think I am one of only 198 hardtop ws6's in the ls1 generation

they made formula ls1 hardtops in 2001 (179 of them) but it was not available in ws6 trim. in 2002 there were no hardtop ls1 firebirds =/

Friends of mine have been bouncing a '99 WS6 hardtop around for over a decade (it's switched owners three times amongst ourselves). NBM, M6, cloth.

I'll move this to the Firebird section, btw...
