Kooks sounds awesome but are expensive

TexasSpeed true duals sound awsome but are dumped

PHAB (ebay) are just the pipes so you can buy your own bullets but are dumped

dont buy PHAB true duals that go all the way back, they fit like crap

The only true duals I have seen/heard in person on an F body that wasn't custom was the Bassani. I was very impressed with the sound and fit. If I didn't go with the Powerflo I would have for sure went with Bassani.

I have custom dumps. Had TSP duals extended over the axle and they sound fantastic. Here's a vid. This was before my engine build and I had that donkey dick of a cam in there still. Sounded amazing but was not fun to drive on the street.

And kooks sound amazing but are around $2k lol

Got my Kooks w/stepped headers and full TD system for $2500 which isn't bad considering the headers are included with gaskets and all hardware.

I have Kooks 1-7/8 with Kooks true duals without cats. Way too loud on my 402. I ended up chopping up the middle section and adding 2 Stainless works smooth tube mufflers. It sounds better, but I spent way too much money on it. If you really want duals, I would suggest going custom. If you want to start with something that you can modify, look at huron speed. I didnt know they made one until I was looking at their turbos.

Anyone have the kooks system on their DD's? Love the way they sound but you can't really gauge volume on a youtube video and no one around my area has one for me to look at.

Don't want to set off alarms every time I go into a parking garage

Any reason you wouldn't just add in the Cats to the system? Will quiet it down a lot.

NW-99SS: Adding cats was my initial intention. One of the 3 inch pipes the cats go into is a little bit ovaled for clearance, and I didnt find any cats that were less than 4 inches in diameter. I was sure it would scrape, especially since my car is lowered, so i decided to switch directions and add mufflers. The mufflers are 3-1/2 inch outside diameter with 3 inch inlet/outlet. With a lot of cutting, test fitting and a total of 4 welds I was able to get them tucked up very nicely. I was a bit surprised to find that the center section of my exhaust sits higher than it did without mufflers!

I am actually looking for space to add some small catalytic converters near the back just to cut down on the smell, but straight runs are in very short supply.

M4N14C: I was setting off alarms driving past cars parked on the street!

Okay good info! I live in the country and certainly don't/won't DD my car at all (it's currently getting a BTR custom grind installed - slowly when I have time), so I don't mind it loud. If it drones on the highway I may add/change the setup.

Mine was over 100 dB in the cabin. But I have it on a 402 with a 247/251 .623/.623 114+2 LSA. I had drone around 2000 rpm which was about 65mph, so I would just speed everywhere.

Now I am at 89dB at the front bumper 84dB in the cabin.

Thanks for the info, I will see how mine is with the new cam next spring and decide if I need extra bullets or cats.

I have Kooks TD's with cats...cam on a 111lsa and it's loud. But it isn't louder than my last setup of GMMG and catted-y because there is no rasp. If it's a DD I would put a couple bullets on the I-pipe and it would probably be much better. I'm lowered 1.25" without any issues, just go slow on big curbs etc. Still a hard system to beat for what you get. If you call Maryland speed they will discount the system quite a bit.

Does anyone know if that huron speed( xs power) true duals is a 2.5 or 3" system? Also will it work with a chassis mount torque arm setup? Sound clips?

Well put. I have stock internals but IMO I wish it was louder. Im sure that will change once I got H/C though. I wouldnt waste my money on any other system, you get what you pay for.
