Default Project underway. Ordered Big Brakes, ZR1 Wheels, ABS Delete, and more

Owned my 2nd WS6 now for about a month I pulled the trigger on my Brakes, Wheels, and suspension upgrades. I'm not touching the motor and drivetrain until the rest of the car is ready for more power.

I'm also not installing any of the below until I have ordered front and rear coilovers to adjust the wheel well gap and to adjust for the increased stopping to prevent excessive nose dive. Will also be ordering slotted rear rotors and braided rear brake lines as well before all is installed.

Heres whats ordered:

1. CTS V 6 Piston Calipers with Hardware Kit.

Having the calipers powder coated in yellow, but with the below custom Trans Am Logo.

2. 2 X SS Camaro 14" Slotted Rotors. Will send to have them machined properly to fit.

3. Custom length Braided Brake lines for the Fbody Conversion.

4. ABS delete kit with Brake proportioning valve and Line lock kit.

5. C6 ZR1 Wheels (18 X 9.5) with 40mm offset front and 56mm offset rear to clear larger calipers. Also having custom trans am center caps added. Still need to order NITTO NT05 295/35 R18 for all 4 corners.

6. Also have on order adjustable panhard bar and adjustable lower control arms with relocation brakets for the lower ride height.

All going on a 2002 WS6

I'll post more pictures as the parts arrive and the decals and powder coating is done.

So, you're just gonna look at all them nice shiny parts without installing them?

A fiver says you won't be able to resist.

Looks good, keep the pics coming.

It will be hard, but I'm so picky I know the wheel well gap alone with the new wheels would drive me more crazy without the coilovers.

Beautiful car.
Word of advice, do some serious research before buying the coilovers. There are many drag coilovers (like Viking, QA1, Strange, Afco) that are being label for "handling" by vendors because they can be adjusted "stiffer" (easy sell for them). When the reality is they are still non-gas charged drag shocks that will under perform compared to a real gas charged sport shock like Koni, KW, Penske etc. Id hate to see another guy wasting money on an otherwise nice build.

I'd do the brakes, get them sorted and broken in, then as a second project do the suspension. There isn't any overlap other than pulling the wheels, and this will give you a good excuse to baby the brakes to break them in easy.

Nice project. Will be a more awesome car when finished.

Brakes, Rotors, and brake lines came in.

Working on getting the rotors machined and the calipers powder coated in the next couple weeks.

Those were the brakes I wanted until I found my Wilwood Kit. Not a big fan of those wheels but looks like some good choices over all.

Sanded off the CTS V emblem and prepped the calipers for paint.

Added the Trans Am and Brembo caliper vinyls.

They are brake vinyls so they can withstand higher temps. You can have any vinyl you want custom made from anyone that sells them normally.

The 40mm offset wheels came in today. Tires came in a few days ago. Time to get them mounted and see if everything clears.

Plenty of room in the wheel. Just hope the 40mm offset is good. If not I'll toss on a small spacer.

The front coilover kit came this week. The car is prepped and ready for the brakes and coilovers to be installed this weekend.

Test fitted the brakes and front wheels. The ZR1 wheels with 41mm offset have about .5 inch of caliper to wheel clearance.

I had to cancel my order for the rear wheels. Vendor had no ETA for the manufacturer to have more in stock so I had to reorder from a Vendor with them in stock. Should be in this week.

I'll post pics of the install later this week. Also I will have my OEM Speedline wheels listed next week in the forum classifieds and ebay if anyone is interested.

Do the calipers fit without modifications?
