I picked up a 2000 trans am a few months ago and have been getting it together ever since. Bought the car without the 4l60 in it cause the previous owner had smoked about 3 of them. Ended up putting a 4l80e, ls2 short block, ported tsp heads, tsp cam, fast intake, fast tb, fti converter, and exhuast. Still have small things to get done, like the head lights and a general good cleaning of the car. Gotta get the ds out this weekend so I can get a slightly longer shaft. Pics will be coming. Been a lurker on here for a bit looking at pics and engine ideas. Anybody on here around south ga, cause that's where I'm at.
Thanks! I'll be getting some pics up. I'm new to the ls scene. I've always been a stang and lightning owner. Always been impressed with the ls rides and after I sold my cobra I thought I'd try the ls world out.
Looks like the fenders will need to be blended to match the hood. Im also gonna take that black screen off the front and put the white piece back in with the bird. Thw po left the screen and trans cooler with fan behind the screen. Car already has a bigger trans color where the radiator is
Thanks! Finally got the springs on it I had in the shop. I'm liking the look of the car better now since lowering it. Still got a few more things to do but the list is getting shorter!
Looks good. Really like those rims on the color white with the other black areas. Sets them off nicely.
Thanks man! Gonna be taking the orange bird and orange letters off for black letters. Haven't decided yet if the bird will go back on or not but if it does it'll be in black also.
Love the white but I am also a little biased....I noticed on yours like on mine the headlights don't sit flush with the bumper....but on other peoples cars they do....any way to remedy this?

Man I don't know cause the headlights are being a real pain now. My bud has been working on them for a couple days now (waiting on parts also ) and the headlights are presenting a real problem to him also and he's a danged good mechanic. So far the only drawback to a ta over a camaro I can see is these danged headlights. My hood also isn't aligned yet so that also could be throwing the line off your talking about.

Usually this is caused by removing the foam behind the bumper. I havnt seen too many people finding alternatives to the missing foam other than replacing it. sometimes people bolt the bumper in instead of the 3 pins in the front to pull the bumper up a bit.
Got the car back from the body shop. Now the hood is aligned and he sprayed the fenders also. Biggest thing this weekend accomplished is getting the lights flipping up and down correctly. Man I was super glad to see those lights flip up and down like theit supposed to work! My work in progress Ta is getting closer now thankfully. Big thanks to the replys in the headlight thread for the help on getting the headlights working. Also helped that I actually got to see a set work on another Ta to see how a working set operates. A previous owner had the darned arm from the motor in between the stoppers when the arm was supposed to outside the stoppers lol. I just gotta get the car cleaned up now cause I haven't washed it since picking it up from the body shop on friday.
