Default Trans Am tow hook

I have done a bunch of searches but I'm really struggling to find an easy/simple answer to what I want. I'm looking for a tow hook for the front of my car that I can use to winch the car info the trailer with. I was thinking something coming out of the fog light hole...

Post pictures and ideas please.

I just loop the strap/chain around the driver's-side lower A-arm.

I should have mentioned I'm looking to avoid laying on the ground and possibly damaging the bumper. I feel like the angle of the tow cable would rub the bumper cover if I were wenching into the trailer.

Your state have a front plate requirement?

you could install something behind the front plate cover, technically you could do it even with a front plate i suppose.

I dont think anyone offers something like this so it would be custom fabbed.

I don't need a front plate but there really isn't anything behind there. The only thing I keep coming up with is a bar going across the the frame ends then attaching a hook to that. There just seems like there is a better option out there...

The impact bar that the absorber attaches to is behind the front plate cover, you would obviously have to cut a hole in the bumper behind the plate cover and do some fab and welding work to attach it properly, or you could bolt it in I suppose.

I would think that point would be strong enough to pull the car from if dont correctly, but you would have to cut access through the bumper as well as through the styrofoam impact absorber; or you could take it a step further and do like overs have done for turbo setups where they weld in some steel tubing to suppor intercoolers and such, and use that to tie into, and stil go through the front bumper.

If you dont use the fog lights at all the same attachment point Im talking about is what they mount to. they bolt into the underside of it, so if the hole on the bumper is already vacant I would try attaching a hook the mounting point for the fogs, just maybe add a little re-enforcement. Maybe someone else could chime on on whether that point is as sturdy as i think it is.

essentially what you are after is something like what is found on the nissan 350z. There is a section of the grill that is removable and behind it is a tow hook since the car is so low it makes it easier to be wenched onto a rollback.

I don't use fogs and that's exactly where I was hoping to go through. I also don't have an impact bar or absorber. So yes like you said what the turbo guys use or that mid west chassis front support thingy that extends the front for a stand up radiator and such is likely close to what I am going to have to do. Just surprised that there aren't more people out there that have done this and can chime in. I have done searches and it's a pretty vacant subject. The road race guys are the closest I have come to finding a solution.
