Default 2001 Trans Am Bored

Guy's im bored with my car. LS1/M6. Mods done are: Koni shocks, Strano springs, UMI trans crossmember, UMI subframe connectors, Stage II rpm transmission, Monster Clutch, Tick Slave, BTR Stage II Turbo Cam, TSP headers 1 7/8" w/ 3" ypipe, 80lbs injectors, Holley Fuel Rails, on E85, 317 Heads w/ BTR .660 springs. Everything else is stock. Obviously it shows I built the car for boost but don't have $4,000 to finish. Car is boring to drive and has aweful suspension/body noises. NO FUN

Change the cam and sell the heads Get some 243s and give it a bunch of compression since its already on E85 and have some fun again. Spray it if you have to.

Jeremy I was hoping you would chime in! I will work on the 243's. What cam do you suggest?

I agree, either make it a strong n/a car, or keep saving for a turbo or blower. Not much else in between

Just depends on how many RPM youre going to turn the engine and what intake manifold. I made 530rwhp with a 12.5:1 6.0 with an LS6 intake. So you can make good power without having to go to a FAST, MSD or single plane.

Id recommend a can in the mid 230s on the intake and mid to upper 240s on exhaust around .600 lift with a 113 LSA.

Well I wouldn't have much money in making it a NA car. The price of selling the cam and buying a new one, same with injectors, should be about the same. I could save the springs off of the 317's for the 243's.

I would love to make it a turbo car. I see about atleast another $3,500 to finish which would take me awhile to save seeing as I just bought a house. Plus that would be a bunch of good parts/turbo ontop of a stock bottom end aswell with 100k. It's not making much sense to me to turbo the car right now until have enough cash to build a motor for it.

Jeremy, it has the factory LS6 intake still. I'm not sure I could get close to the 12.5 CR. I don't want to tear into the engine. Maybe more like 11:1. Would it even be worth stay E85 at that point?

You can get the dynamic compression up with valve events. I'm not sharp enough on cams to spec out your EVO/EVC/IVO/IVC ect. Get with someone who can spec you out a custom cam with modified valve events to get you as much dynamic compression as possible while making good power.
