front license plate mount for 97 firehawk k
My apologies if this has already been posted, tried searching but did not find anything conclusive.
I just picked up a 97 firehawk and live in area where front plates are required.
As the front end of the 93-97 firehawks (or forumla or regular firebird) are unique vs the 98-02, is there a front license plate mount option or solution out there that does not require drilling onto the front bumper?
I recall the camaros had a front licence plate bracket that mounted to the frame underneath bumper but due to the very different front of the firebird it will not work.
I appreciate any feedback info or guidance.
Thanks.

Why not use the factory option? On the very front nose of the car, there is two 1" round plugs near the center of the nose. These pop out and there is a factory mount that attaches to those holes. I have one of these sitting around somewhere I never used.

this one is mounted to the air dam

There is other aftermarket options as well.

this one is made by SLP

this is a retractable kit

Exactly where are these 2 front holes for the factory mount?
Here is my front end below. I did see any of the 2 front holes.

Disregard Batman, if the car didn't originally come with bracket the holes won't be there. There might be faint outlines of where they should go but they aren't there. Refer to the same post you made on the Firehawk message board. I recommend the SLP bracket with threaded rivets and wing screws to hold it on so you easily remove the assembly for carshow

I looked at the SLP one but that is unfortunately it only fits the camaro front end. The 93-97 firehawk / formula front end is much more pointy and curved for it to work.
That was my feeling too when I had my '95. As I said on the message board, you might be able to mount the SLP bracket offset from center. If it doesn't work you can always return it. I'm going to buy one to see if I can make it work with an LS1 ta bumper

With my old Grand Am the front cover took 10 seconds to remove and could even leave my plate screwed in and it would fit over. The Hawk however the screws make it more of a pain and I've yet to even try to see if the cover will fit over it
I may just bite the bullet and get the screw in factory front bracket. I watched this video and it doesn't look all that bad on this firehawk.
The only 4th generation F-bodies that have a true, non-invasive factory option that doesn't involve shooting screws through your paint and urethane bumper cover are the 1998-2002 Firebird and Trans Am. The 1993-1997 cars don't have this. The 4th generation Camaro doesn't have an option that doesn't involve ******* up the grill insert at the very least.

You might be able to find a parts car on Craigslist or something that has one that's intact. You could always E-Mail or call the owner to find out if you can just get the bracket.
