Default 2000 Firebird electrical question

I’m not really savvy when it comes to electrical, but I’ve been trying to figure out my DRL issue and noticed that my test light was dim when testing the tan/white wiring connecting to the DRL module. I also tested this same colored wire going to the brake fluid level sensor. It was also dimly lit. Looking at the schematics, it appears this all begins at the IP Fuse Block gauges fuse 9. From there it goes to S206, through the instrument cluster and onto S228, which then disperses to a few spots including the DRL Module and Brake Fluid Sensor. What should I check into? I’m confused at this point.

Those are connection/junction points. (I recall they can be connectors or splices.) There is a lookup in other parts of the service manual that will tell you where those points physically are so you can find them in the car.

This diagram is usually more helpful:

What is the problem with your DRL's? Are they not coming on at all? Looking at both schematics, it looks like it's possible that a voltage bleed from the brake warning system could cut the DRL's off just like the parking brake being on.

correct. Both DRL’s don’t work. They have from time to time but haven’t since summer. Both turn signals and parking lamps work correctly. I also just converted these to LED for the heat issue.

You may be on to something, then. A proper voltage meter would help a lot.

Do you see the BRAKE light on the dash?
