Default GMMG or Borla

I'm about to purchase an exhaust system for my 01 WS6. I have it narrowed down to the GMMG or Borla cat-back. So, which one would be better? I want an aggressive mean sound but don't really want the nastyness that the slp loudmouth has. Plus, I am going to lower the car is Eibach the best?

You are going to get way too many opinions on this topic. Since they are both almost the same price, you can't go wrong with either. I have GMMG, along with thousands of others, who absolutely love it. I've heard both, my friend has borla and I have GMMG, and personally, I think the GMMG is deeper and louder. Not an over aggressive loud, but it is just right. Also, you won't get rasp with either one unless you change other things too. But, headers with GMMG I've heard is just plain awesome. Good luck!

I am leaning towards the GMMG because I like the idea of a resonator instead of a traditional muffler. Is there any differance with weight?

Like a previous poster said, you're going to get many opinions. I have heard and really like the GMMG, however I have the Borla on my car and completely love it. Closed it's not much louder than stock and wide open it's very loud and nasty sounding. I have QTP headers with an ORP and when I go open road racing I run the Borla with NO plate in it at all and I absolutely love the sound ! It's a little too much on the street though, I usually bounce back and forth between the fully closed plate and the middle plate depending on my mood

I'll post up an in-car vid in an hour or so of how it sounds fully open running WFO in ORR

love my borla, and keep it wide open. if i had known about the GMMG at the time i may of gone with it, but im not swithing. the nice thing about the borla, is that it can be fairly quiet if you want it that way

Went with the GMMG, no compliants here (maybe wish it was a little louder at idle, but that's about it)

borla all the way, baby!!! it sounds great wide open. on a dyno, they're (PROBABLY) equal, but borla gives u the cutout option. how can u go wrong?

I have the Borla and love it, but if I had an LS1 I go with the GMMG. Borlas sound great, but if you go long tubes and no cats it will get raspy on you.

I love my Borla too. It sounds great IMO. Especially with headers. It has too much rasp withno cats though. So I put them back on.

I have the Borla with no plate (factory manifolds). It sounds good, but it's not loud enough for me. I plan on getting true duals.

i've heard both plenty of times and i chose the borla catback(no plate). i plan on getting LTs and ORY (not to raspy for me at all) with dual e-cutouts. i think the intercooled tips are the best looking out there! you cant go wrong with either catbacks.

pic of borla on my WS6.
