yes. teh rear seats aren't as wide, so they aren't as "good" looking in there. Also, the rear foldown was narrower too and the ancor bolt couldn't get locked on. THe center consoles have been swapped before (it must be a cup holder thing) but I'm not sure if people were using auto to auto & manual to manual direct swaps.

yes the seats will bolt right in. The consoles as long as they are 97+ will bolt right in as well. And yeah i like the fact that i went from having No cupholders at all to 4 cupholders. It rules! even though i havent actually used them yet.....

All the seats bolt in perfect, don't know where you got the info about it not sitting right?
All the consoles from the Firebirds will bolt right into a 3rd gen Firebird from 84 or 85 up, when they switched to the sleeker style. 3rd Gen camaros and 82-83 Firebirds are harder since thier HVAC and Radio are built into the console.
I've had a 4 sets of 4th gen seats in my cars over the years as well as the 97+ consoles with the nifty swing out cup holder,
my old 86 Trans Am

My 88 Formula,

And the Formula when it was an Auto with the B&M Megashifter,

Thanks for the info and thanks for the pix Zepher...

Yeah I am tired of my dads 3rd Gen sitting under a carport in our backyard...so I proposed he give it to me so I could get it looking/running good. There were no objections

We are the 2nd owner of the vehicle...the original was my uncle/cousin and the interior was abused quite well. It will be needing new carpet, seats, back passenger sail panels...All power works just fine!

Exterior: Body is in GREAT shape...no rust, dings or cracks on plastic bumpers. It has never been in a wreck! It is white, so I will most likely have it repainted that color to keep it looking original. I will also be replacing the tail lights...

Mechanical: It will be needing a new gears in the rear...most likely will redo the exhaust, has true duals out back but the mufflers are nasty soundn' now...It still has the crappy cross fire injection that floods like no other...is there a good replacement intake out there or will I be forced to carb it???

They fit perfect in both of my cars as well as everyone else that has put 4th gen seats in thier cars. The only issue I had was on my 86 that had the split rear and the one piece 4th gen seat back sat on the bar that is on the trans tunnel.
Are you talking about the seat bottoms?

About the fuel setup, carb would be the easiest, but you can do TPI if you'd like, just need to gather up a TPI Setup and install that and do some wiring and a fuel pump upgrade.
I did a carb to TPI setup on my old 86 Trans Am,

Or you can go all out and put an LT1/T56 setup in there,

I just picked up this 90 Formula 305TBI 5 speed tonight and will be putting in a TPI 305 motor this week along with a 9 bolt Posi 3.45 Disc rear end.

Zepher - Do you have a hook up for a TPI conversion? Lemme know...I will be interested sometime by mid next month...

I'll take some pics of the TA later...

I come across them every now and then. Let me know when you want one and I'll see if I can find one quickly and cheaply.
