I'm getting ready to sell my trans am and really have no idea what to ask for it.

Its a black 98 ta with dark grey interior a4 with 47k miles. Mods include new chrome zr1 wheels, tp4400, 3.73, slp long tubes with off rd pipes and hooker cat back, hal fronts shocks and springs. Also the usual stuff like lid, pullie, etc....average bolt on car.

The folowing has been removed but have all parts stored and will give to buyer : AC, front bumper supprt along with fog lights and wind shield washer stuff.

Its really a nice looking car and back when i had most of the interior out and it weighed 3280 with me in it ran a best of 7.48 @ almost 3k ft. Now it weighs mid 3400's and would probably run 7.7 or something like that. The light weight really made a difference.

I am also going to include ls1edit since i won't have any need for it on my new car.

So how bout it guys....what should i ask ? I was thinking around 10k.

I know this isn't the for sale section...i'm just trying to get an idea of what you guys would ask for it and what i might expect to get. I'm never good at this stuff and always sale stuff way to cheap. Heres a pic

thanks guys for any help and i really wanna get rid of it as soon as possible so i don't wanna put a huge price and wait 6-8 months for a buyer.

I would put a stock converter in and sell the 4400, that is going to make it really weird for a test driver. Also take the SLP LTs and ZR1 off. You can recoupe some of your money there, just put stock parts back on. Figure you could sell those 3 items all together for around $1500.

As it sits I would say ~10k is fair. I can't believe how worthless these cars are. <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />

i have a stock converter and may stick that in next week and also put the factory wheels on it. I could probably get close to 1k for the wheels and tires and maybe 700 or so for the converter. Thats $1700 or close to it that I can sink into my next car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

May also try and find some stock shocks and springs. The hals are pretty loose....especially with the drag springs on.

I myself am looking to buy a 98 black trans am with around 40k miles.. Id recomend at putting 12,500-13,00 as the starting price, and take no less than 10,000.. Ill give you 10,000 for it if you still got it in may <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I agree that you are better off to try and sell it with the stock parts and sell the mods separate. Usually, modded cars tend to bring less money unless you are selling it to someone who knows the car and wants it for the way it's already set up.

I think if you returned it to stock, $10K is MORE than a fair price. I'd probably ask more like 13K myself. 10K should move it quick though if that's your goal.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

heres one......think i have a bunch more. I'llll do some searching.

Heres the differance between now and these pics :

Windows tinted 5% rear and 20% on sides
The rear center panell that has the bird was repllaced with a sollid black panel along with taillight covers (looks awesome solid black across there)

The sides where it says transam on the door now have chrome overllays/decals. Reallly llooks noce witht he wheels and the only one I"ve seen done llike that.
