Did GM ever do a factory grape? I know they had a pearl purple on the LT1s and there are a handfull of C5's with that pearl purple, but I've never seen a factory "grape purple" TA.

 

They did make them in purple, IIRC it wasn't offered past 98, and is one of the rarer f body colors

 

A bitchin' color indeed. Shame they didn't make more of them. Wasnt' it due to some sort of problem making the color? I think that's what I heard somewhere.

 

they only made 3 days of that color and i very few 6 speeds.. if you could buy in for under$14000 or so it would be a great buy.Here a pics of my vert 1 of 42 made in 1998. the color is call bright metallic purple code u327d

Yep, definitely a rare color.

The only years of purple Firebirds/Camaros were:
1967 - Plum Mist (called Royal Plum on Camaros)
1992 - Purple Haze Metallic (only on Camaros)
1993-1994 - Gray Purple Metallic (both)
1995-1996 - Med Dark Purple Metallic (both)
1997-1998 - Bright Purple Metallic (both)

 

There's a guy in Akron ohio that has a purple 98 Formula.

 

If i had some cash i would jump on that, that i a sick color, t56, and 55k is nice!! on a 98 too! its got chrome twisties too, nice

I always wondered what chromed twisties looked like. I might get that done to my old set.

 

I believe they only ever made 12 of them due to a problem with the paint

there is a guy in the St. Pete Fla area that has a purple TA. they look sweet!! (never thought i would say that about a purple car)

GM then introduced a new color in mid 98 to replace the Purple. (Navy Blue Metallic)." I seen a purple formula at E-town NJ. A girl was driving it and she was running 11.9 with it

 

thats sweet, but I don't think I would mod that thing if I had one, they are so rare! She probably has no idea what shes got. That guy with the purple WS6 was offered 75k for it twice by TA collectors and he turned it down!

 

^ All of the purple ones are rare, but the regular cars aren't as rare as the WS6 ones, so it's probably not worth quite as much.
