Firebird concept photochops
#3
The first one is just a distorted 4th Gen. Wider is better, and that one thing is good, but it's too slammed, too distorted, has exposed lights, and a hood from a grand am, the separation of the holes doesn't look right.
The second one is better, except for the camaro mouth on the the front. Firebirds (and Trans Ams) are sleek, aerodynamic, and aggressive. The only holes on the front of the car are for air intakes or heat extraction. This has been the case since about '77 or so (IIRC). And the only reason it didn't start sooner was technology and standard design practices. A closed nose (bottom breather for radiator), and hidden lights are both Firebird and Trans Am design hallmarks (the former lasting about 25 years and the latter about 20 years, practically half of their existence), they can not be shrugged off.
If that second pic was larger, and had a more 3rd Gen nose to it it would work better and look more like a Firebird (crossed with an XJ220, but still.....).

the first is just too "hacked together"
and
the second one doesn't have enough Firebird heritage in it.
I liked the one-off 03 Heritage Trans Am. The White one with Blue interior and shaker hood. That was sweet looking.

Ya, I would have to agree. They do not look really good. Hopefully there will be/are better concepts than that coming out. We really need something to blow the Ford's away!!

I won't be quite so harsh - yes the first is just a distorted and slammed 4th Gen Formula which doesn't work too well to start up the 5th Gen. But the 2nd isn't really all that bad except for the grill opening - it definitely needs to be a bottom feeder as mentioned above. And the proportions suggest it might be even heavier than 4th Gens which would be a definite No-No!
Oh, but thanks for giving us something new to look at since GM doesn't care to...

Must have one. In Aramanth Metallic (first 2 pics) too. Super sleek, downright awesome looking, incredibly fast, and tons and tons of lateral grip. Definitely one of my dream cars.
But it would seem difficult to make one look like a Firebird, or Trans Am though.

I really hope they don't try to bring the Trans Am back because there is no way they could possibly bring it back without screwing it up!! I would hate to see them ruin the heritage they have created with something like that. A Camaro I think they could pull off but a Trans Am to me has a whole different kind of heritage to it.
Those were both ugly as hell and I hope GM doesnt think about it for more than a couple seconds. I mean look at the GTO , they screwed that up REAL good
