Default Do all WS6 Trans Ams have the badge under the right tail light?

Hi I'm trying to buy a 02 Trans Am WS6. Some of the one's that i've been looking at have the ram air sticker on the air lid but don't have the badge under the tail light. I would like to know how come some have them and some don't?
I know that the best way to kno that u're buying a Trans am is to look for the RPO code on the door but I would just like to know to be sure. thank you for your info!!

The ONLY way to know for sure is to check the RPO....but as far as I know all WS6's will have the badge. I think you might see some without them for 2 reasons...1. its not a real WS6...2. the badge was stolen.

My badge got stolen...im guessing at the movie theatre, I did not notice until the next day so now the car dont leave my sight...some people dont realize how close they come to death sometimes.

Also when I went with my cousin looking for a T/A for him, we seen 2 real WS6's without the badge...I mentioned it to the salesman its missing and like 75$....I got that dumb stare like "what".....so you will see them out there without it.

You can tell by the rims, hood and emblems walking up and WS6's sit about a inch lower than a T/A. RPO is the sure way. Good luck hunting

Do you know how to look for the RPO ??

On the drivers door there is a sticker with a buch of 3 digit series of numbers and digits....just make sure one of them says WS6

Yea, I can't remember the placement of it but one of them should say WS6 and all WS6's came with the badges originally unless they were stolen or maybe taken off for paint or something of that nature.

An accident of some sort where the bumper had to be replaced could be another reason for the badge not being there. My WS6 was rear-ended, the bumper had to be replaced. The body shop replaced the badge since it was insurance work, but if it was something I was paying for outta pocket, that badge would have stayed off. The dealerships around here charge $125 for it, and half the batch was broken when the body was trying to get a new one.

My WS6 does not sit any lower than a standard TA. It's exactly the same height. Some Firehawk's will sit lower, depending on the suspension. But I believe all TA's and WS6's are the same height.

To be sure, check the RPO codes on the door. If the RPO code is there, but the badge isn't, I'd start questioning on what happened to the bade (fell off, damaged and removed, stolen, accident and bumper was replaced, etc)

All WS6s should have the badge on the passenger side rear of the vehicle, just below the right tail light.

You can also look on the door sticker on the driver's door... you will see the code WS6 on there.

Nope, ride height really isn't any different, they all have the 4x4 motif going. Only cars that sit a little lower are Firehawks with the Bilstein package.

Don't know about Bilstein package...but Koni package (1LE package) sits approx. 3/4" lower.

The Bilstein set up on the Firehawks (what they referred to as a 1LE in the '01-'02 model) is about the same.

I think they (WS6's) sit alittle lower....I was working on my buddies 2001 T/A and jacked it up from the k member and I had a 1 inch thick block of wood on the jack...then I pulled in my 2002 WS6 and the jack would not fit with the block of wood, I had to leave the wood off. My cousins 2001 WS6 was the same, the jack alone barely fit under the k member....a few weeks later I tryed another buddies 2001 T/A and the wood fit on the jack I only say it sits lower because of what I have seen. At least the k member sits 1 inch lower on the 2 WS6's vs the 2 T/A's I have tryed

1 WS6 has 17in Firehawks, 1 WS6 has 17in factorys and the T/A's both have 16in factorys.....all stock suspensions. As far as I know the 16 and 17's are almost identical in height, so that should not make a difference......but there is a 1 inch difference in the 4 I have seen at the k member.

maybe one had weaker springs or was used harder??? either way the factory height needs at least a prokit lowering stance if not more!

I dunno, my Formula has a Prokit on it, and I actually think it's almost TOO low. There's two Prokits, though... one drops it a 1/2" lower than the other.

I'm not going to lower my WS6, though, the car is staying bone stock... so I guess I will have to get used to people giving me a hard time about the ride height.

That would depend on which wheels you have...

If you have the '98-'00 wheels.. like these, they should say "WS6" on them

If you have the other wheels, like this car... they say "Pontiac" on them, with the red arrowhead in the center.
