Question A6, M4, ect... What does it all mean?

I've noticed things like "Camaro SS A6" or whatever. Have no clue what the A6 or M4 stuff means. Can someone fill me in?

It's A4, and that's a 4 speed auto trans
The M6 refers to the six speed manual

This site could use a sticky post with every acronym listed. You'll just pick it up by context most of the time. N/A took me the longest
