I had an 01 GT and now own a 99 ws-6 ta. My 01 GT ran 14.5's in the 1/4 mile, my 99 ta runs 13.2's.
Only mod to the 99 is a catback exhaust and a K+N air filter.
LS-1's are low 13 sec machines right off the showroom floor with **** poor traction.
I can't tell you what the 0-100 times for the cars are, but I can guarantee you that the gt is a full sec slower at least in bone stock condition.

99% of the mustang GT owners here in D-town think they're bad ***, and 80% of the time they are compared to the other cars and SUVs, but it's sad when you see them messing with a WS6, or an SS or even a C5. It's nice to see a GT owner that’s not ignorant and has good taste. Good luck on your search.

They are also DOHC cars tho, so its not as unfair as it may look, they make decent power for their size, but our cars still make very nice power for an old design!
I still like the LT5 tho, gotta appreciate 405 hp from a DOHC 350 from almost 10 years ago! now im way off subject, im a post *****

Those GT's are decent cars. I had an '01. They obviously aren't as fast as an LS1 but they aren't too bad. Their main problem is lack of low end power and not enough gear. They are slugs until you get them moving. You throw some gears in those GT's and they are fun little cars. I sold mine and bought another LS1 because the LS1 fits my idea of a performance car a little better but the Mustangs have their upsides too. They feel more nimble to me then an F-body and a bit more tossable around town. Plus I think they are built better and more solid. I can see why some people prefer Mustangs over F-bodies and I can definitely see why the mainstream non-car people bought the Mustang over the F-body, but for a car guy you can't arguge with the LS1's out of the box performance for the dollar.
