2002 trans am window noise
I own a Sunset Orange 2002 TA. The drivers window makes a loud snapping noise right as it reaches the point of being fully rolled up. It also does this with the T-tops out, so it must be coming from inside the door. Does anyone know what this could be? The sound is comparable to the window getting hit by a small rock. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you tryed to pull up on the window or push down on it? sounds like the window motor might be poping out of its hole???? Just do what 95formulalt1 and watch while you roll the window up and down..

Holy cow dude, the same thing just happened to my 2002 trans am. Right when it gets rolled up tight, it makes a 'POP' once, then don't happened again until a long while later.
It started happening like that when I rolled down the window, and pulled my self out through the window, and I sat on the door panel while trying to get out that way. When I sat on the panel, I heard like a 'CRACK' noise. Thought it was nothing, but now, every new day, when I wind the window down then back up, I'd hear a 'POP' noise.
I tired to pull the door panel off the see what is causing it but it is so dang hard! Feels like I am going to break the clip on screws behind it. So I gave up. I'll just deal with it. Plus I don't want the hassle of trying to get all them clip screws to go back in the door panel, that is worst! I never can get them ALL back in!

Hey all,
It looks like I am not the only one with this window problem. I did take the door panel off (which makes me nervous and was hoping to not wreck anything) and actually I didn't take it off, but un-snapped the clips and took out the screws and got it loose. I could see inside somewhat but didn't see anything that was broke. There looks to be some plastic stops on the bottom of the window and I think that is what is snapping when the window reaches the top. I tried adjusting the window some with the guides at the top of the door but nothing seemed to work. I then decided to quit before something got wrecked. So.....anybody got another suggestion?

it might be the window hitting those snaps and maybe binding that gear enough for it to pop I'd see if you can find some long tweesers or thoose three prong grabbers and get the snaps out and see if that fixes it.

also you can get a mirror and check to see if all the screws are on the window motor bracket that connects to the door, probablt one of thoose small mirrors with the extension would work.

Look at the seal on the door where the back edge of the glass goes into the door. The seal wraps around the glass, sometimes when the glass goes down it rolls the seal inward. When the glass goes up it unrolls and makes a pop or snap sound. Open the door and run the glass up and down while watching the seal.
