Smile oil change light

Does anybody know how to reset the oil change light. It stays on for about 5 minutes every time I turn the car on and then it turns off. I already changed the oil. What oil do you all recommend: regular or synthetic and what brand. 01 ws6 108,000 mi. Thanks

There are two ways to do it:

#1) Turn the key to the "on"/"accessory" position (vehicle isn't running). Now push the gas pedal to the floor three times, and at least five seconds apart. The light won't come back on the next time the car is started.

#2) With the key in the "on"/"accessory" position (vehicle isn't running), push the trip odometer in and hold it for a few seconds. The light should go out and won't come back on the next time the car is started.

I could not be 100% correct on #2, but I use the #1 method and it works perfectly.

Push and hold in the Trip button until the Change Oil light goes out (about 15-30 seconds).

The dealership told me about #1. It works on both of my vehicles.

I can confirm both methods work... at least on my car. I usually do #2 though only because it was the first one I learned of lol

I use #1

#2 ...........

As far as oil goes, Mobil,Castrol,Royal Purple are all good synthetics, but the best in the world is AMSOIL 5w-40 European Formula. It has a 25,000 mile life and blows all the others out of the water on abuse tests and oil anaysis. Hard as hell to find though. I'm going to be a vendor for it in the next month or so.

As for oil, I used mobil 1 synthetic(cheaper at Costco than autozone).
Amsoil is popular too and many claim to be the best. German Castrol and Royal Purple aren't bad either.
