Default Probably too expensive

I seriously doubt I would buy a new one. I just do not see the reason behind the new Camaro when it is going to cost a fortune. My '01 T/A was $33,000 so what is this going to cost? No one bought the last year Camaro or Trans Am mainly because of price. Look at the production numbers for years '01-'02, production numbers so low that we already have collector cars. Paying $30,000+ just is not going to work for most GM fans, and for that price I'm afraid of them being made even cheaper (see cracked door panels) than our current rides. I'm sure the first year sales will be decent, but then what? Back to the same dilemma as in 2002 - too expensive and too small a segment of the car buying public. GM needs to learn from it's very own history.

I won't be buying a new camaro because I don't like the looks of it---moderator edit---. My issues aside- why don't those of you who want a new car but don't like the chevy badges on it make a phantom 5th gen Trans Am out of it. There are some cool photoshopped renderings already online of the concept car converted over. They look worlds better than the camaro version. Or make your own. Get hold of a customizing shop and let them go to town. Make your own 5th gen T/A and drive a one of a kind creation!

It would interesting to know if any former workers from the St. Therese plant were members here.

Definitely not this new generation (not a fan of the new body style at all)

But maybe when this whole retro trend finally dies and they get back to making cars with modern styling, then I could see myself owning a Camaro. That being said I don't plan on ever selling my Trans Am.

I think the Camaro's are going to look really nice, and it doesn't really bother me that they aren't making the TA's anymore...since I own one of the last ones made . My next car will most likely be a Vette though.

I do wonder if any aftermarket companies will make some kind of conversion kit...since the cars are pretty much the same except for the panels/fenders and some interior anyway. I did like the looks of that black 5th gen T/A rendering that was floating around here for a while.

Clearely the Trans Am is better than the camaro.....

Face the facts, each car is owned and operated by an inbread redneck, so its really the same car.

That's interesting...I've owned both a Camaro and now a Firebird, but I'm not an inbred redneck.

Let's try to keep this on topic people!!!!

If GM did not make the T/A which I still don’t believe (maybe a year after the camaro)
I would make my own 2008 T/A.

With the only difference between the two is the skin and some of the interior
I would make my own T/A with a custom made front end and rework the back
With some embroidery and sell the kit as a tuner car.

Any one wants to open the new company? lool

I'll keep making my 02 better as things need replaced. God forbid anything happened to it I would look at used 02's or a new Challenger.
