how i can i get 450hp out of a lt1?
.what i really want is turbo or a supercharger but i searched the forum and i can't find any firebird with one. is that because turbos/superchargers are expensive to put on these cars. i just love the sound of spoilng turbos and the BOV, i've wanted a car with a big turbo since i was like 12 . anybody have and suggestion on how to get to 450hp+ and how much it will cost.so i can start saving up, working at the rigs in alberta so i'll have big money rolling. i have cousin who is a mechanic so i can probably get it done really really cheap, mabye even free, doubt it though.i'm also considering a engine swap, i found a dodge viper engine for 3 grand on ebay lol jk . instead of people hearing my sound system , i want them to hear my car

I have an STS and I am putting out 400 rwhp on a basically stock engine. I have read (not personal experience) that any more on stock internals creates a time bomb. I spoke to a mechanic that put a Procharger on his LT1, and got 450 rwhp. It also grenaded at 10k miles after.
As far as cost, I spent right around 6k total. I got the upgraded turbo, an electronic boost switch, gauges, wires, plugs, fuel pump, Transgo shift kit, trans cooler, etc.
I like the fact that it runs like stock when I am not in the throttle. Just my opinion.
