Are all year model t-tops the same size? I made a small mistake.

 

Yeah, they are all the same. Just make sure you get the correct side.

I believe they are all they same, but I could verify it at work in the morning.

 

It looks like the only ones that are different are export models.

As long as you buy one that is 98-02 you will be ok. Rembember they changed the color of the plastic in 00.

Actually I believe that the '98 T Tops are different. There was a post somewhere a long time back about someone who had purchased 98 T Tops for his newer Trans Am and they did not fit. Are you guys sure that all years are the same?

 

I can't see that being an issue, GM did not change anything on the body from 98-02, as a matter of fact I know that the t-roofs from a 94 will fit onto a 98 as well, since a friend of mine converted his hardtop 98Z to t-roofs by using a set from a 94. If you cut out the roof of a hardtop, there is the stuff needed in there for the t-roofs, all you need to buy is the panels and the trim and you're good to go.

 

Thanks for clearing this up for me. I knew they had changed color dyes in '00, but for some reason I remember a story about a fitment issue. Good Luck with the new T's Lock em' up! I caught mine just before it was about to fly off one time

 

My friends 96 SS T-tops fit on my 2000 SS. Only thing you gotta watch for it the color change, and im not sure what year they changed from dot-matrix to normal tint.

 

Some came with a special dot-matrix tint. My friend made the same mistake as you and had to get his replaced, and we bought a set off eBay that has a dot-matrix tint to it.

Kinda neat and gay at the same time.
