Default Firebird 4x4

Watsup guys Im kinda new and I just got my first firebird. First I would like to say Im all about restoring it to its original glory. However, that being said I would also like to add that before I restore it I would enjoy trying to make a 4x4 out of it. I have already seen this done to both a 1968 firebird and 1981 formula firebird. I have yet to see this done with firebirds of the 98-02 years and I am curious if it is possible for this to be done to a 1998 pontiac formula firebird. Just wanted to make sure it could be done before I got in to anything.

Remove body panels from Firebird, Remove drivetrain.

Build custom tube frame.

Mount body panels and drivetrain on tube frame ^_^

cut every piece of suspension off the firebird and mount the body on a 4x4 blazer frame. How you get everything to work is up to you. anything can be done with the right tools and imagination. i would imagine a 4x4 truck ls series engine and tranny/transfer case would need to be used. custom driveshafts would be needed as well.

why would you do this........#1. #2. why would you do this BEFORE restoring it. if youre making it into a 4x4, im sure youll be wheeling it......which will probably beat the **** out of the body, and im sure interior. #3. you would have to change SO much of the original car, itd be easier to buy a second 98 fbody and restore that to 'its former glory'.

why in the hell would you do that to a formula? If you want to hack **** up, use a V6 car.

Exactly. I don't have a problem with making a 4X4 F-body. It would be good for laughs if you had the time and money to do it. No need to hack up a nice F-body tho.
