First off lets get some pictures, and congrats on the buy. Second figure out what you want your car for ex: drag racing, road racing, daily driver, weekend fun, ect. Then base your mods off that, so that way you don't waste you money buying stuff you don't need. For first mods an intake is always good, i got the SLP intake lid, its pretty cheap brand new, and is very easy to install. Headers i would say stay away from SLP longtubes, they hang extremely low. Enough to the point that i cant lower my car, or i will scrape them on everything. Exhaust is all on what tone you like, and how loud you want your car. Check out LS1sounds.com

On top of the engine mods, get gears. The 3.42-4.10 swap I did in my 6 speed made a world of difference. She'll light up the tires whenever. American Racing long tubes are expensive, but my experience with them is great. I am still amazed as to how nice they fit. And they're stainless. But obviously you can get regular steel ones for a third of the price. Which is what most guy go for.
One thing you didn't mention is porting/polishing your TB. This will make a very nice difference. Took me about 2 hours to do mine with a die grinder. Just don't touch where the blade goes
