Check out this thread. Its been quite awhile since anyone has visited us here at LS1TECH.com and provided ASC# info, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Looks like no one has been looking into these ASC builds in a while....

Default Triple black transam

Hi guys from England, I have just bought a 2000 triple black TransAm non-WS6 vert with hurst 6speed.
After a bit of a search I cannot find how many of these were produced so if you can enlighten me I would appreciate it thank you.

http://www.transamworld.com/2000-breakdown.htm

At least 125 black WS6 'verts w/ M6 were built in 2000 (may be a few more since this data source was missing about 12 WS6 Verts for that MY).

Thanks, although mine isn't a WS6.
I can see however my car isn't particularly rare which is a bit of a shame, though rare over here.

OOps, I read right over the "non-" in your post. Sorry. That actually makes your car even more rare, as way less than 1/2 of the non-WS6 T/A 'verts built that year were 6-speeds, and most of the 6-speed 'vert T/As were WS6s. I'm sure you have a rare and fast car in your neck of the woods.

Default Newbie Question

Not sure if I'm in the right spot or not, but I just bought my 1st Firebird yesterday. It's a 1997 Trans Am WS6 Convertible with 37,000 original miles completely stock. I read online that you can find out a lot about your car from the service parts identification sticker. Just wondering if anyone here was familiar with these codes... One of the codes is Y84 which I thought was associated with older firebird? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong spot.

Your car is one of 121 black A4 WS6 'verts built in '97. Y84 is the code for a T/A trim level in a 'vert body (Y82 is a T/A coupe).

Sweet car, pics??

Thanks for the reply, i came across a spreadsheet that you made that went over production numbers based on options... I noticed that were only 50 like mine with the luxury reclining seats? Also the car is a one owner and the guy that bought it brand new ordered red leather from GM and swapped out the Grey ones.. Have you seen this before? I will be posting pictures today.

Here are the pictures of my Trans Am, pretty sure I got an amazing deal on it... One owner only 37K miles.. Paid $9K is that a fair deal based on what you have seen?

Ooohh, black w/ red guts is HOT! That's a very clean looking car, NICE find. Giving me ideas if my seats ever needs recovering.

Default Ls1 hardtop ws6, 1/196??

Oops, just found the firebird section: Hello ls1 tech. I am looking to compare some notes. My research tells me that there were 198 ls1 hardtop ws6's ever built?

I guess I am looking for a virtual pat on the back for finding one and buying it. And confirmation that I am 1/198

Grats on the car.

I thought it was BS at first because all 98+ T/As had T-Tops but now I see its a Formula.

Looks great!

Sorry I forgot to mention it was a formula. I figured since we are talking hard top, that it went without saying.

There is at least one factory hardtop 1998 Trans Am. S/N 002 IIRC. There might even be a second one.

Does it have power accessories? If not you might check to see if it's a 1LE.

Yeah, I believe the first two T/As made in '98 were hard tops. I remember reading that way back when.
