Yes, you can hear it on the inside of the car...The severity is truly up to the discretion of the user. I have had some loud exhaust in my life and this is quite nice both inside and out.

3 db on the interior, and noticeable on the outside.

Is the 09 any different whatsoever? I've heard Blue tooth and gauges and that's it.

So far an 09 with Bluetooth has yet to even be released. GM is now saying BT will be on 09 1/2 models. They did remove the "Atari" gauges from the center of the dash. Replaced them with a cubby hole. You can get XM on 09s. Other than that, 08s and 09s are the same.

Clipped from another board I posted on:

In my opinion: If you are going to buy an exhaust system based on what you hear in low res on the internet you are making a mistake. I think you are better off waiting until someone in your area has the exhaust system and you can hear it in person.

If you are on the fence, a sound clip on the web is not going to make a world of difference. I can say this, I am critical....no, over critical of interior and exterior noise. This system is NOT over bearing or annoying inside or out.

Again, that is my "opinion" others may have different criteria they base their "opinions" on. Key word "subjective".

To answer your question: It is not much louder in my opinion....However I feel that is subjective.
