I drove our new shop car today and it's somewhat cold here, but it had a lot of wheelhop. This may be holding guys back from launching them hard as well. The track doesn't open for a few more month, so no numbers for a while. We did however dyno it yesterday with 19 miles

The more I think about it, the more I am wondering and wanting to go to the track. The car has 90-100 + RWHP over a new Mustang GT and can't weigh much more. I went 13.8 @ 102 in our Mustang bone stock.

I went to the track on 20's in the Mustang and everyone laughed and said you couldn't go fast on 20's. You should have seen the looks I got after going 10's on 20's Of course, it would be quicker on a tire, but I run it like I drive it on the street.

if these things are getting 14's out of the average driver seems like the G8 GXP will be the next GTO where no one can apparently drive the thing. It makes me pissed off when 500 HP GTOs aren't breaking out of the 12's. Seems like the same thing is going to happen to the G8 GXP

I hope to run the 1/4 at some point in the near future. If I can't make it out of the 14's I will be mad at myself!

Car would be much better with A6, just easier to launch consistantly. Put that 400+hp to better use. Nothing wrong with at stick as I had a bunch of them back in the 60's and early 70's. Once I switched my race cars to a glide/trans. brake the consistancy came as did the round wins. Can't run a glide in these cars, but, more fun at the strip with an A6 and more fun on the street with a M6. Take your pick of medicine.

Eh, the consistency of an auto at the track gets very boring to me. Don't get me wrong, I love taking any car to the track, but since I typically go to rental days (12-15 runs a day), the whole fun of the track is figuring out the best way to drive the manual for the conditions and working on my launching/shifting technique. Would it go much quicker and more consistent if I threw an auto in it? Definitely, but in my opinion it just gets old quick with the auto. All personal opinions, though.

What do you guys think about the strength of the half shafts launching with drag radials?

Default My Grand Prix GXP front drive

I pulled a 1.8 60ft on my nexen n3000s 13.9@99.5 (stock gears) The 4 spd auto and 2.92 final drive doesn't help. I want that 100 mph mark.
