I got the GXP and I can assure you I won't be running 14's in it. This car is a lot of fun to drive and it runs pretty good for a large 4 door sedan. The only draw back to the GXP is the fact that they give you 415 hp, 3.70 rear gears, manual transmission on skinny *** 245 tires. 275's or 285's would be a match made in heaven for this car. I will run this car before I put my headers and intake on and if I don't get low 13's or high 12's I'll be mad at myself because the car has it in it.

I've driven a GXP and IMO it's not a 12 second car. They are awesome cars, but they feel like mid 13 second cars at best to me. The weight of that car makes it pretty slow in stock trim.

We'll see. I'm basing it off of magazine times. I've always been able to beat their times by a couple of tenths. They state the GXP will run low 13's.

I hear ya. It's really hard to tell what ET a car will run just by the butt-o-meter. I really like the GXP, but I wasn't impressed at all with it's straight line performance. They are fun cars though that's for sure. I'm curious to see what you can get it to run at the track.

LOL! It's probably hard to be impressed with much of anything when you drive a 600+ rwhp car. Everything seems slow I bet.

I'm going to try to hold out for the TVS1900 or 2300. But, that is a year or two away.

That's not it. I've been driving my V6 Dodge Dakota for 5 months now
with the Cobra in the garage. The GXP still feels slow. I just don't think
it's all that quick due to weight. It feels like a mid 13 second car to me.

I'd get the GXP, but that's just me. I would be modding so I would want that extra displacement to work with.

They're both really good vehicles. Either way you go you can't go wrong. If money is an issue then just grab the GT.

I know exactly what you mean. When I bought my GTO, I thought it was slow as molasses. But it ended up running 13.25 when it was stock.

It was just so smooth compared to my WS6 or TTA that it's deceiving. Just doesn't feel like it's going that quick.

I'm not big on magazine racing. I've driven a lot of cars and the GXP just doesn't feel fast. Don't get me wrong, I really like the car. I wouldn't mind having one.

thats fine. just giving you a reference point. i drove a G8GT i didnt think felt that fast either. it didnt feel bad but a few members on here have claimed stock times of mid 13s.

Neither did the BMW 535i I test drove...'till I looked down at the speedo and saw I was doing 115 mph.

Speed in the G8 is just as deceptive.

The GXP looks better. I don't like the 40k sticker or the Brembos on the front and not on the rear but I'd choose the GXP over the GT. It will probably hold its value a little better and just like the 4th gen Z28 vs SS, same car but it feels better saying you have the SS.

I vote GXP for the 60-70rwhp better starting point.

Granted a GT can be modded to meet the price of a GXP and have more hp, but aside from the Livernois car, the cammed GT's I see are in the 400-420's, and a CAI/tune GXP is in 390s. That's a driver's race, near bone stock GXP to an already pretty heavily modded GT.

Then there's the Maggie arguement. I see 440s from them, that's bolt on territory for a GXP. So in comparison a FI or still untouched internal car? My vote still NA.

Now for the Maggie'd/cammed arguement which is in the 500 range. Thats full bolt on/G5X3 territory. Still less mods/hp to net the GXPs hp to match a heavily modded GT. That's where that 60-70rwhp difference holds its value.

I don't know all the supporting mods but IIRC, a Maggie'd GT in my area put down 520 at the wheel with the AFM turned off. I'm pretty sure it had a stock cam with just a cold air setup and exhaust. Don't know which blower though.

May be a TVS2300, the common 1900's I see are the ones in the 440 range.

There is a guy with 496 or so at the wheels from Fla.

He has 1 7/8 long tubes, BAP, 60lb injectors, and a different pulley on his 1900.

I haven't seen anyone post over 500 from a Maggie, yet.
