F-body felt faster (TA with Intake and 3.73s).

G8 handles just as well without the harshness, gets better mileage, rides better, has better seats.

A Tune really wakes up the G8..it still feels a bit slower than my TA, its probably a mid 13s car.

F-body more fun at the strip or with T-tops off, but any kind of long trip G8 wins hands down.

To be honest, the auto wouldn't bother me, as I would more than likely get a tune and stall. This would be my DD as well. How is the aftermarket for these cars? I've been researching a bit and it actually seems to be quite strong. Any feedback would be great!! I really like the Stryker Blue, but the Liquid red is just sexy!!

Plenty of parts. Mine is the Stryker Blue car. Its goning on the dyno today.
opefully we make 450hp.

The G8 is much more comfortable and about as fast stock. The Trans AM is fun for a weekend driver, but if your looking for a DD then G8 hands down.

Dunno bout that. My H/C TA still gets 26mpg hwy compared to a steady 22-24 with the G8. Both get about 425ish hwy miles/tank, and my TA's tank is smaller.

As for the speed comparison, I've raced an A4 'Vert '00 WS6 with lid, exhaust only, so comparatively stock, and the difference was 1 1/2 - 2 cars. Mine's completely stock BTW, and the power nor weight wasn't the difference, it was the trans. Every "granny shift" that this crappy TCM Tune has set, the TA would lurch forward. After 4 shifts, those accumulated lurches proved to be the difference. That was from a 30 roll. From a dig may be a different story as the G8 is a killer out of the hole. With a proper aggressive TCM tune, they're a whole new monster.
