Default Anyone sell their F-body for a G8 GT?

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone here went from an F-body to a G8. I'm trying to sell my F-body at the moment. Can you tell me any pros/cons? My Hawk is a 6spd manual, so the GT is going to be an auto. To be honest, the auto wouldn't bother me, as I would more than likely get a tune and stall. This would be my DD as well. How is the aftermarket for these cars? I've been researching a bit and it actually seems to be quite strong. Any feedback would be great!! I really like the Stryker Blue, but the Liquid red is just sexy!!

Aftermarket is getting bigger by the day, so you're set there. There's already a good selection of stalls as well so have no second thoughts about going from an m6 to the a6!

I though am one of the few to have the best of both worlds in an f-body and a G8.

^ Ahh, must be nice!!! Unfortunetly, it's one or the other, ha, ha! How does it compare in speed to the F-body? Does it feel like it's slower or quicker?

After a tune and stall the G8 pull will put a smile on your face.

I got to ride in a slightly modded G8 this week. I was very impressed how well the car drove. I love F-bodies but if you want to step up, a G8 is a great way to go.

Im to the point where a rough riding car that rattles and creaks just doesnt do it for me anymore. I need a nice car that drives nice yet still has the power I want. The 2 extras doors are a plus for me as well. Ill be buying a g8 gt as soon as I find a good deal on a local one.

I too kept my Hawk when I bought the G8. I drive the G8 during the week and the Hawk on the weekends.

i say keep the firehawk, mod the hell out of it! & make the car your own. muscle/pony cars are few an far between, keeping the past alive, the heritage and the emotions bestowed in others either young or old as they see the cars today, the TRANS A/M, CAMARO, CHARGER, CHALLENGER, MUSTANG... a few of the names that have brought the small automotive community together in the small world of muscle power....... 2,3,10 years down the road, children & adults will always remember the "power"name of those muscle cars of the past and we need to keep that name going..... to me my over all emotion regardless of impressive numbers, a few of the new " generation" muscle cars do not uphold the heritage....

keep the hawk

I kept my Z28 and bought a G8GT. The G8 is the DD and for carrying the kids around and the Z28 is for cruising around on nice weekends. My wife wouldn't let me trade the Camaro in anyway. She stated "We will never get rid of that car!"

Sometimes priorites change, and both aren't in the budget. F-body's are everywhere...finding nice ones can be diffucult, but it's possible. I would take a nice new G8 over my F-bomb anyday.

I traded my Bonneville in for my G8 and am so happy. I still have my Camaro and love it but this G8 seems like its just as fast (stock for stock) rides a million times better and handles better too....by a lot. The Camaro is gonna be a track/nice day car but right now when it's nice in Chicago I'm gonna be in the G8. If all you can have is one car the G8 is the way to go but the F body make a great second car.

I've had my G8 since Sept/08 and have debating whether to sell my WS-6 ever since. I definitely enjoy driving the G8 much more. Like it was mentioned earlier, the rough riding, squeaks & rattles wear you out after awhile. It's nice to get in a car and be fast & comfortable. Having said that, I think I'm going to keep the WS-6 because it was hard to find an 6 speed convertible and it's 10 years old and just turned 28,000 miles. One day it should be worth decent money....
