Incredible. I read that he was riding the concrete median before hitting the curb...wow, just wow.

I'm deeply saddened about what happened to Shaun, who was a fellow member in the GRRRR8 club where I'm also a member.

The family set up a fund, and the G8 forums are having a cruise in his honor. Heres a link to the familys fund/memorial page

Family Fund/Memorial page

The G8 cruise post is here - There might be a small fee for the cruise, with all the proceeds going to Shaun's family, but its not confirmed yet.

Yes, makes me wonder if he was trying to multitask with something while speeding?

RIP, I feel sorry for the guy, his friends and his family.

Also makes me wonder what happened in the situation.

Old saying but speed kills. Even with these new advance safety features on newer cars.

Both rear tires were bald, fronts looked like they had some tread left. It's anyone's guess, but maybe a locked up rear end? Sad to hear stuff like this. He was in my gf's graduating class. Prayers for the family.

I saw this on the local news the other day. I am really in shock about it. I raced him in my G8 late one night a little over a month ago.

Unhappy

The pics of this car show just how dangerous it is too make one little mistake
while driving at a high rate of speed. I never meet Shaun but what people have told me about him, I wish I would have gotten a chance to meet him.

RIP SHAUN

That is unreal how bad the car is destroyed. Nascars don't look that bad when they crash at 200 mph. I would say he must have been doing well in excess of 100 mph.

He was flying no doubt about that, doubt the rear locked up either.

The rear end probably came around on him, with bald tires like that he might not have had the traction control on. He might have hit some pea gravel too, it's hard to speculate.
