Default Got in a wreck this morning

Well after only having the G8 for 5 months now I had some retard rearend me. We are dead stopped at a light and the turn lane beside us starts to go so thos woman decided she would to and ran straight into me. Her car was basically fine my whole bumber is bent and out of line so I'm pretty sure the bumper has to be replace.

No one was hurt or anything so I know thats a good thing it just really makes me mad thinking about it. Plus I kinda worried that when it gets fixed the paint wont match just right and that I'll be without my car for way to long.

My biggest concern is matching the paint and the pain of being without my car cause if they give me a rental it will probably suck.

Will it really be $4000? Its just the bumper I cant see any other damage but that doesnt mean there isnt any. She hit me only going like 5 mph if that.

Here is a pic from the side.

Also what all do you have to do when filing a loss of value?

Picture kinda sucks but you can tell where the top of the bumper is way out of line and is resting on top of the exhaust tip

Yeah I'm trying to look at the bright side of it but its hard cause this car is my baby lol

But she has State Farm which is a pretty good company if they try to screw me I'll get USAA after their *** and it will get done right.

There's a lot of parts under that bumper....supports, bolts, brackets, etc...Hopefully the muffler wasn't damaged. They only cost $794 a piece. Did the plastic spare tire tray crack ?? They cost $324. There's nothing on this car that's cheap...money wise. I know from previous experience...my bill was $19K.

State Farm is a pos compared to USAA. That's all I know.

I hope I never get in a wreck with this car.

There is some energy absorbing material under the bumper cover, so if she hit you at 5 mph more than likely you'll just need a new bumper cover and it will have to be painted. The bumper covers have a flex agent in the paint to make it pliable so they never match perfectly even from the factory. I saw a brand new orange Camaro on the showroom floor and the paint on the bumpers covers didn't match.

USAA is def one of the best insurance companies out there. I had a wreck about 4 years ago and it was the other persons fault and USAA called whenever it was filed and then made the whole process go alot faster.

I know there is a slight difference between the bumpers and the rest of the car as long as it looks like it does now I'll be happy I just dont want it to be noticable to the average person that actaully takes the time to look at it. Mine is really close too being dead on right now though

That's very interesting that Panther Black Metallic is so common yet I have only ever see 1 other Black G8. Seen tons of white, silver, and maroon.

Well got the first estimate this morning and it was only $1100. Of course this is just a look over they might have to add more to it when they actaully get the bumper off and can see whats going on behind it.

I feel pretty good about the place I'm going to have do it the owner has a Z06 and has a Lambo tucked away somewhere so I might have to get in good with him to go for a ride
