Finally Got One...Photos Inside
I've been wanting a G8 GT for a while, and just couldn't find the right deal. Finally got my hands on one, and luckily traded my wife's car in on it...a 2008 Dodge Avenger. It was an awful car, and started developing lots of problems, so I'm super glad to have the G8 now. The car drives great, and has 33,000 miles on it. I'm planning to give it a few bolt ons, and just enjoy it. I found out very quickly that it needs some tuning help, as the drive by wire is sluggish, and the transmission shifts very slow. Anyway, here are some pictures of it.

Nice ride..
What do you mean by "heavy". The f-body's came in around 3700-3800 pounds, the G8 only weighs in around 4000 pounds. Plus they make more power than the f-bodies did as well.

Somehow I am not sure about that, my 2001 Formula that only had power windows and locks, cruise and cloth interior weighed in at 3375 on a certified scale with half a tank in it.
I know the T/A and the WS6 both weighed more than a tripped down Formula. Even with that I would still take my G8 over the F-body any day of the week and twie on Sunday. More refined ride, just as much if not more potential and they are comfortable to drive all day long.

It would be more expensive to reduce the weight significantly than to add power to overcome the weight (in a straight line). My car has plenty power, but its soooo heavy.
Things one can do to reduce weight:
CF or fiberglass hood and trunk lid
Titanium catback.
light weight wheels
lighter control arms and subframe.
Lighter seats
Coilover kit is more than likely lighter.
You may get rid of 100lbs with this and you'll get rid of plenty of $$ in the process.

Congrats! They look great in white, that would have been my second choice.
As far as the weight goes, it's a full size 4-door, not a Corvette. I don't think there are two many people trying to decide between an fbody or a G8. Two different catagories of car.
