Default Bad Front Wheel Bearing

Anyone have to replace a front wheel bearing? The passenger side was making a loud humming noise at 70K so I just installed a Timken hub and it's quiet now. I got it from Rockauto for $130, GM wanted over $400 for one. That's quite a price difference.

I had about 64K when I sold mine and all were good. I am one of the very few people that is a mostly highway driver though. Probably +85% of my miles. 400 dollars is rape. I think you will be fine with the Timken bearing.

Yep! I had the front rigth replaced. It sounded like it was rubbing the tire when turning. ACK!!

Luckily, it was replaced under warranty.

Yours must have gone out earlier than mine. My warranty was expired so I had to foot the cost.

I also had to replace one on my wife's minivan the same weekend. Now whats the chance of that happening?????

2002_Z28_Six_Speed I don't think it matters if it's highway or city driving, the bearing turns the same amount of revolutions in the same amount of miles. It seems like it rides smoother now so evidently a bad bearing has an adverse effect on that.
