Not bad at all. I see high 12's with a tune, intake/exhaust and some sticky tires. Awesome.

I would love that car as my daily driver dadmobile, but I'd require a 6 speed manual. Real vents for the back passengers, Blaupunkt (sp?) stereo, lots of neat stuff. Glad for Pontiac, I'll be driving one just to see what it's like. I am a Chrysler service advisor, so I've driven quite a few of the 300 SRT8's. I have one complaint about them, the front suspension makes some crappy banging noise over rough roads. Oh, and they get around 14 mpg.

its supposed to be setup to run on 87 octane. thats the main reason its less hp than a normal 400hp ls2. or so i thought.........

im assuming if you had it retuned for 93 you would get the HP back

The guy commenting on the car while driving is a bit noisy so you cant hear much of the car. If you listen closely you can. I just cranked my speakers to make it more noticeable.

based on those numbers, it looks like it is going to need an additional 50-60 hp and some sticky tires to get it into the 12s. I can't figure out why is this thing so heavy when i have a decked out lexus gs350 and it only weighs like 3600 lbs

Probably two main reasons for the weight.

1. The Lexus most likely contains more lightweight materials especially aluminum in drivetrain parts.

2. The G8 is a bigger car. 6 inches longer overall (2 inches of this in the wheelbase), 3 inches wider, and 1 inch taller.
